Jane Gardam

Born in North Yorkshire in 1928. Award winning novelist of both adult and children's books, including a couple of horse related stories for younger readers. The white chalk horse in one of the stories may be inspired by the similar real life chalk horse which can be found near Kilburn in North Yorkshire, a striking piece of hill art which I have myself visited a few times.
